Question 1

How does Protu grade an IELTS Writing essay?

Accepted Answer

Protu evaluates your essay against the four official IELTS Writing criteria — Task Achievement (Task 1) or Task Response (Task 2), Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy — and returns an estimated band score plus sentence-level corrections in under thirty seconds.

Question 2

Is Protu free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Protu offers a free tier with daily credits so you can submit IELTS essays and receive feedback at no cost. Pro and Max plans add higher daily limits and longer essays for learners who want to practice more frequently.

Question 3

How long does it take to reach IELTS Writing Band 7?

Accepted Answer

Most learners need three to six months of consistent practice to move from Band 6 to Band 7. At one focused hour per day expect roughly three months; weekend-only learners typically need six. Targeted feedback on Task 2 coherence and lexical resource accelerates this meaningfully.
